Question: Wheat or Tare

During his earthly ministry, Jesus often used parables when addressing his audiences. He used parables to illustrate important spiritual principles having to do with the kingdom of God and our relationships with God and with one another. He did not often explain the full meaning of the parables to his audiences, but it wasn’t because he wanted to “hide the meaning,” nor because he was “lying,” as some have imagined. It was because of their hardness of heart. But he did explain the meanings to his closest disciples, whom he told to explain it to others (Matthew 10:27). This is explained in more detail in our article “Does God Lie?“

One of the parables of Jesus is the one featuring seeds sown of wheat and tares, lessons from which are explored in this message.

The earth, unique among planets, is perfectly suited for life. Why is the earth a uniquely living planet? Why is there such a teeming abundance and variety of life on earth? Is it an accident, as promoters of Darwinism or similar theories would have you believe? Or is it planned and Is there a purpose behind it? If there is a purpose, what is it? Which offers the best explanation, the Bible’s revelation, or God defying human speculation?

Can You Believe What the Bible Says About Jesus (Part 2)?

In this message Rod Reynolds examines some prophecies from the Old Testament that were fulfilled in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. These prophecies give powerful testimony to the truth of Scripture, and the identity of Jesus Christ.

Each individual must decide what he or she will believe about the testimony of Scripture concerning Jesus Christ. The Bible offers us means of examining and testing the evidence for its claims. Whether one ultimately believes the gospel message, however, is not a casual decision to be taken lightly. It is, in the final analysis a matter of life and death, because no one can give you eternal life but God, who is the source of life and the author of salvation through eternal life in God’s kingdom.

Whether you claim to be a believer in Christ or not, it would behoove you to carefully examine the evidence concerning the Bible’s claims about Jesus.
