The Christian Goal

Successfully following the path that God wants us to follow as Christians is knowing the primary goal we ought to pursue. Sometimes individuals — even in God’s Church — get sidetracked into pursuing a wrong goal into a blind alley, so to speak. We also need to follow the steps that can allow us to reach the goal of God’s kingdom.

The primary goal we are assigned as Christians is discussed in this sermon, and principles you can follow to successfully achieve it.

Peace Offering Symbolism

Although under the New Covenant animal sacrifices are no longer required, we can learn much from certain spiritual principles underlying the sacrifices offered under the Old Covenant Levitical system. Spiritual principles related to the peace offerings can be profitably applied to the worship of the true God now and into the future.

Discerning Christ

In writing about the Passover Paul warned that it must be taken in the proper way and with the “discerning” of the Lord’s body in the Passover symbols. Sin Causes Division

We live in a world marked by dissension, division, strife, hatred, war and other
manifestations of violence and bloodshed. To a large extent, humans are cut off from God as well.

At the root of division, between God and mankind, and among human beings, is sin. If we can understand the root cause of division and strife, perhaps we can understand more clearly the path we should walk in, and eventually the way to peace with God and among human beings.

Man’s Greatest Challenge

Perhaps the greatest challenge mankind has faced down through history is that of living together in godly love — with peace, harmony and good will. Failing that challenge has produced conflict, slaughter, mayhem, wars, death and misery on a massive and near universal scale down through history from the first man and woman to the present day.

God has provided in his Word the instructions for meeting that challenge. Those who desire to be in the Kingdom of God will have to learn how to apply the principles found in God’s Word that show us how to live in peace, as much as it’s up to us as individuals.
